MICHAEL MCQUEEN

Vice President of Operations – Latin America

As the Vice President of Operations – Latin America, Mr. McQueen oversees the operations of assets across Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

Mr. McQueen has been in the telecommunications industry for the majority of his professional career, having performed and managed all essential functions of infrastructure operations and network development. Prior to joining Phoenix Tower International, Mr. McQueen was Vice President of Business Development and Operations, Latin America, with American Tower Corporation.  In that role, Mr. McQueen led regional efforts to review and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes, identify and implement best practices, and pursue ways to improve the cost basis, reduce cycle times, leverage automation, and improve data quality.  Previously, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Emerging Markets, Latin America.  In this role, Mr. McQueen was responsible for all operational business development and fiscal activities in Chile, Peru, and Costa Rica.  Mr. McQueen also served as the Vice President and  General Manager for American Tower Chile.  Prior to re-joining American Tower in 2010, Mr. McQueen developed extensive experience and accomplishments in the telecommunications field, as a tower operator and carrier.  From 2007 to 2010, Mr. McQueen was the Director of Network Deployment for Sprint/Clearwire, where he built and launched the first  WiMAX Network in the United States. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. McQueen was the Vice President of Operations for Optasite, Inc. During his prior years with American Tower Corporation from 1998 to 2004, Mr. McQueen held various management roles, including National Director of Development and Area General Manager for the Northeast region.  

Mr. McQueen graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management.
